Resolution III - Expressing and Endorsing our Sheboygan County Republican Principles

1. Whereas, we support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the State of Wisconsin, and
State of the Union Address
2. Whereas, we take strength from our Republican principles of personal responsibility, self reliance & hard work and believe that we as free people, not government, can best determine our own destiny and shape our futures, and

3. Whereas, we believe that by reducing the size & power of our government, controlling regulations & mandates, minimizing the scope of social entitlement programs and restoring the tradition that government employees are employed & elected to serve the people, we will be able to lower the overall tax burden and provide the economic incentive needed to invigorate our economy, and

4. Whereas, because it is well established that business, which includes farming, is a vital part of maintaining a vibrant economy and enlarging a strong middle class, we support the need to reduce or end specifically targeted taxes and unproductive regulations on business as a means of advancing a business & job friendly environment and producing competitively priced products for commerce, and further we do not support any regulation or subsidy that favors any particular business establishment, industry or labor group or individual over another and we do not support any regulation or subsidy that would give the political class the ability to pick and choose the economic winners & loser, and

5. Whereas, we will hold true to our values and traditions that strengthen families, encourage moral character, defend the institution of marriage as a union between one man & one woman and protect the innocent and the unborn, and

6. Whereas, we will defend our right to protect ourselves, our families and our homes as well as our right to keep & bear arms, and
Madison Capitol Building
7. Whereas, we support managed legal immigration, but seek the securing of our borders against illegal aliens and that, except for emergency humanitarian aid, illegal aliens should not be extended government taxpayer subsidized benefits, aids or services that are intended for legal citizens, and

8. Whereas, we believe that we all have the responsibility to financially support a quality public education system but also believe that all families regardless of income should, have the ability to educate their children in a format of their choice, and

9. Whereas, we respect and support America's role as the sole super power and believe we have been blessed as a nation with the ability to provide security, liberty and freedom to people all across the globe, and

10. Whereas, we have great respect and pride in our fellow citizens and their families who have volunteered to be a part of our military and offer them our full support both while they actively serve and when they return home, and

11. Whereas, we will take it as our duty to protect the validity of the electoral process via a photo identification requirement and the elimination of same day registration, and

12. Whereas, we support the right of U.S. citizens to freely express their political opinions through their financial contributions, with full, prompt disclosure. We insist that neither employers nor unions should force individuals to contribute to political causes against their will. We oppose public taxpayer financing of all campaigns, and

13. Whereas, we will remain good stewards of the land, while safeguarding our private property rights and understanding that human beings are part of our environment, and

14. Whereas, we are committed to maintaining a high quality private market health care system in Wisconsin and in America. We have the right to contract privately for health care services and health insurance coverage. We should not be required by our government to obtain or maintain insurance coverage or participate in any specific health care system or plan. We insist on a fair and balanced legal system to prevent undue insurance liability on all health care professionals. We encourage laws and regulations that encourage consumer involvement and open competition for the purchase of health insurance and health care, including allowing for Health Savings Accounts, and for volume purchasing and health care risk pools for Wisconsin businesses and the self-employed, and

15. Whereas, we are committed to maintaining the highest standard of ethics and integrity for all of our citizens including our elected officials. We expect all public officials and party officials to place public service ahead of personal gain, and

18. Whereas, we respect and pledge allegiance to our nation's flag and wear & fly it proudly because we are proud to be American's. We are not concerned that our display of the flag may offend those how do not like our nation, and

17. Whereas, we know that America has been blessed by God and we support maintaining the phrase "one nation under God" in our pledge and the phrase "In God we trust" on our currency.

18. Therefore, be it resolved that the Republican Party of Sheboygan County in caucus assembled January 28, 2011 express our support and endorse the above mentioned principles and believe that they will lead our state and our nation into a new era of prosperity, innovation, opportunity and true freedom for all.
